Before moving to Cornwall, Spencer was the moustacheoed frontman / bass guitarist in Plucky Purcell on Big Tash Records based in Bath. He played 60s/70s funk fuzz driven grooves and gave out stick on moustaches to punters that wanted to move and shake it up. He now fronts Go Go Skank with a fun upbeat edge that will get everyone up and at it. Ah yeah!
Scott 'chop' Guitar
Bringing a dirty, meaty edge to Go Go Skank from his days as a blistering bluesman, Scott's not adverse to the occasional splurge of metalhead madness or a blistering rock-out. From technique to tone, he's always working to develop his style. In between the madness, his clean funky rhythms will have your feet a skankin'. See you soon on the dance floor!
Dom on Drums
He plays drums, he teaches drums, he carries a lot of drums around in his funky van. Having held the beat for the likes of Ska'd for Life and Ten Bob Notes, Dom is now the man in charge of keeping Go Go Skank in line - no mean feat at times. He's also our sound guru. See if you can spot him smoothly operating the mixing desk with his drum sticks in between beats....
As soon as she escaped the convent school, Sam exchanged her classical training for the deep, dark growl of the Tenor Sax and some jazzy flute in lighter moments. Inspired by Lisa Simpson, Sam’s bleeding gums are supported by the massive breath she developed as a UK Team Freediver. Sam came to Go Go Skank via Penzance’s Backroom Blues and the Falmouth Soul Sensation.
We've brought Sally over to the dark side! Playing in brass bands since the age of six, Sally trained in classical trumpet and is the master of all things parts and notations. You'll have seen her lively, punky style on stage depping for loads of Cornish bands and as the Mighty Offbeats' first trumpet player. After a brief spell of madness when she left Cornwall, Sally is back and we're delighted to have her in Go Go Skank. Listen out for her BVs and occasional trombone moments too... although we're not sure about the euphonium!
